Change to Bin Collection Over Festive Period

West Dunbartonshire Council(WDC) has today (19/12/2024) advised that there will be no festive bin collection for residents who’s bins are usually emptied on a Wednesday or Thursday this year.

This will impact only our residents within Trafalgar Street & Dumbarton Road, Dalmuir.

As per WDC website:

  • Bins due to be collected on Wednesday 25th December will be collected on Wednesday 8th January (General waste – black bins)
  • Bins due to be collected on Wednesday 1st January will be collected on Wednesday 15th January ( Recycling – blue bins)

In addition, brown bins will not be collected from Monday 23 December until Sunday 5 January inclusive.

We appreciate and anticipate that during the festive period there will be an increased amount of both recyclable and general waste. We ask all residents to make use of the recycling point located at the rear of the Cabin Inn on Trafalgar Street – for recyclable material.

The Recycling centre at Erskine Ferry Road, Old Kilpatrick will be open during the festive period ( Excluding 25th and 16th December and 1st & 2nd January) and will accept bagged general waste.

As advertised on our newsletter we have an extra bulk uplift already arranged for Wednesday 8th January, this is to help alleviate any build-up of waste in the area.

This situation is out with our control, and all tenants and residents maintain their own responsibility for the sensible management of their waste disposal.

All information in relation to this can be found on WDC website:
